Overview

Writing Foundation is an integrated program devised for students age 6-12 to introduce and reinforce reading and writing skills.  Emphasis of course is placed on developing correct grammar, wide vocabularies and writing techniques.

Over the 12-class course of each term, our students will devour (read), chew up (discuss) and digest (evaluate) a varied selection of texts, while expanding vocabularies and strengthening critical reading skills along the way. In addition to developing healthy reading habits, our students are also introduced to the building blocks of writing. Students in lower levels will learn pre-writing fundamentals, while students in higher levels will be taught writing mechanics, structures and styles. By the end of each term, students will produce two writing pieces that shall demonstrate the knowledge and techniques acquired. Assignments are corrected and feedback is provided. Parents will also receive regular evaluations on student progress and performance.
